You write. We structure. AI edits.
Your Claude companion for novel writing.
Composez gives Claude a structured, project-aware view of your novel — and a library of expert skills that turn it into your developmental editor, line editor, beta reader, and continuity checker.
An expert skill for every stage
Each skill is a focused workflow that Claude runs against your manuscript — from the first spark of an idea through to your published book.
Plan
Ideate
A guided brainstorming session for a brand-new novel. Claude asks the right questions about premise, characters, setting, and theme — you make the choices, and the answers land as structured entries in your reference database.
Blueprint
Turn a story concept into a full narrative skeleton. Claude reads your premise and notes, proposes an act/chapter/scene structure, and writes a summary for every scene so you can start drafting from a real plan.
Voice
Define the prose style for your novel before you draft a word — or hand Claude a sample of your existing writing and have it codify your voice. The result becomes the style guide that every other skill respects.
Draft
Drafter
Turn scene summaries into first-draft prose. Claude reads your style guide and full outline, then drafts every scene chapter by chapter — using parallel sub-agents to keep pace, and your voice to keep tone.
Edit
Line Editor
Scene-by-scene polish. Tightens flabby sentences, cuts filter words, fixes rhythm, and replaces clichés — preserving your voice. Every change comes with a before/after diff you can accept or reject.
Humanizer
Hunt down AI tells. Combines fiction-tuned linting with n-gram repetition analysis and contextual review to produce a frequency-ranked report and chapter heat map of suspicious patterns — then fixes them.
Review
Beta Reader
A full beta read with real craft notes, not vague praise. Evaluates structure, character, dialogue, prose, emotional resonance, and theme. Produces a structured report with prioritized revision suggestions.
Continuity Checker
Catches timeline errors, contradictory character details, and dropped plot threads. Cross-references the manuscript against your reference notes so the eyes that were blue in chapter 3 don’t turn green in chapter 18.
Character Voice Audit
Reads every line of dialogue with the tags stripped and asks: would I know who said this? Flags where characters sound interchangeable, scoped to one character or to the whole cast.
Publish
Cover
Drafts a detailed image-generation prompt for your front cover — title, author, story tone, and rendered text included. Then walks you through generating, reviewing, and uploading the final image. Composez exports publish-ready EPUBs and print-ready wraparound covers when you’re done.
Website Developer
Builds a promotional website for your finished novel — pages tailored to your book’s tone, ready to publish via GitHub Pages or download as a zip.
The structure that makes it all work
Skills only feel like magic because the manuscript underneath is well-organized. Composez gives Claude — and you — the scaffolding. Bring your own custom skills, too, and they appear in the panel alongside the defaults.
And because every skill runs through Claude Code via our Git integration, you can use your existing Claude subscription — no extra tokens to buy, no double-billing.
Narrative Structure
Acts, chapters, and scenes as first-class objects. Every scene gets its own summary and prose — so Claude always knows where it is in your story, and so do you.
Reference Database
Character sheets, locations, world-building, themes — a structured codex that every skill reads from. Your style guide and metadata are loaded on every run, automatically.
Git Version Control
Every skill run lands on its own branch. Review the diff, accept or revert, then merge — or let auto-merge handle it. Nothing the AI does is destructive.
Prose Linting
Built-in style checks tuned for fiction — passive voice, clichés, AI tells. Run on demand, or auto-lint after every edit. The Humanizer skill wraps it into a full diagnostic pass.
Editor + Console
A clean editor for your prose, a slash-command console for everything else. Direct edits, chat questions, scoped selection edits, and one-shot commands — when a skill is overkill.
Bring Your Own Keys
Use our hosted models, or wire up your own OpenAI-compatible or Anthropic API keys. Skills run under your subscription — no double-billing.
How it works
The skills do the heavy lifting. You stay in the driver’s seat.
1
Set up your novel
Start a new project or import an existing manuscript. Composez creates the structure every skill depends on — no setup required.
2
Launch a skill
Open the Skills panel, pick the skill you need, set the scope (a chapter, an act, or the whole book), and click Launch. Claude Code takes it from there.
3
Review and merge
Each run lands on its own branch. Inspect the diff, accept or revert per file, and merge — or let auto-merge keep things flowing.

Built for fiction writers
Novelists
Manage a full-length novel with acts, chapters, and scenes. Use Blueprint to plan, Drafter to draft, and Line Editor + Beta Reader to revise — all working from the same shared structure.
Writing teams
Git-based version control means multiple collaborators can work on different parts of the manuscript, review each other’s changes, and merge cleanly. Every skill run is a reviewable branch.
